Less than a block away from the hotel I stayed there is this place called “costela no bafo” which transalates as something like “Steamed ribs”. It is a cozy place decorated with pieces of local folkclore mixed with high tech gear such as big plasma tvs and somewhow these different elements mix in a surprising way making you feel at home.

The menu is a frankenstein of delights. They have your ordinary selection of meat but also goes beyond of what you’d see in a “churrascaria”, portuguese word for restaurants that specializes in meat, having a delicious selection of pasta such as the extraordinary white sauced spaguetti.

What stands above all else is what gives the house its name. The Steamed Ribs. Served with white rice and made in their own special recepy this is the perfect example of meat made into gastronomic art. I would also recommend the exquisite garlic rools as a perfect side dish.

If you ever find yourselves lost in that part of the world, check this place out.

Introduction

Racing’s North Turn sits on the exact location where racing history began in Daytona Beach. The Races took place on the beach starting in 1936 until World War II and then continued with the first Grand National Race in 1949. These great car races ran each year until 1958, when they were relocated to the brand new Super Speedway where today you can witness the thrill of the Daytona 500 or any one of Daytona’s famous Races.
Racing’s North Turn Restaurant has gone through many changes over the years, but one thing holds firm:
The history of this site is an asset to Volusia County and holds the key to racing’s past. As of February 15, 2007, the Ponce Inlet Historic & Archaeological Preservation Board announced that Racing’s North Turn will be recognized as a Historic Landmark.

Menu

The menu at The North Turn is typical seafood. very comparable to High Tide Harry’s a review i did last week. However North Turn has a much better atmosphere. With a walk out pier to the beach to live performances on friday’s. The one major gripe i have is that serving size’s are very small and sometimes it feels like you have left without eating enough.

Conclusion

North Turn is great but it just doesn’t give you all the food you want to eat. But if you want to go to a restaurant with great food and great fun this is your place.

Prices are fair ,not great but fair.  You can find better prices around town but you couldn’t find the great taste.

Service

At times the service can be slow but on the most part your servers will be friendly and in order.

Conclusion

Final story is that the Red Star Tavern has great food a reasonable prices. If your in the Orlando area you gotta try this.

High Tide Harry’s is a casual seafood restaurant and saloon, where the goal is to satisfy your hunger and thirst with a variety of great foods and beverages served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All of the foods here are the freshest and of the finest quality they are able to find. Reel seafood, none of that imitation stuff sold here !

Food

Like most seafood restaurants High Tide Harry’s serves crab meat and hush puppies galore. Its a typical seafood restaurant nothing more nothing less the food tastes great but its not mind blowing , so don’t expect for it to taste better than any other seafood restaurant because more than likely it is the same experiance.

Activities

Aside from the food High Tide Harry’s Average food, the atmosphere at High Tide Harry’s is not so average. With an arcade and play area for kids to a fully stocked bar for adults High Tide Harry’s is Perfect for all ages.

Negative

• The seating arrangement can be claustrophobic when the the restaurant is crowded.
• Service can be slow not painfully slow but sometimes take longer than normal.

• Its a popular hotspot Between N. Semoran Blvd and E. Colonial Dv. many people show up often. Some slow days are Tuesday – Thursday

Prices

You’ll find prices are reasonable and portions plentiful. Compared to other local seafood restaurants High Tide Harry’s prices can’t be beat.

Conclusion

If you are in the East Orlando , Winter Park Area and enjoy good food ,great prices and fun than this is the place for you. But if you have the money and a more Formal dining experience than you may want to try the Red Lobster up the road.

In a small plaza of the corner of Scarlet RD and Semoran Blvd in Winter Park Fl, lies a small diner by the name “Johnny’s World Famous Diner”. Although it has not been confirmed why this diner is so famous but from the friendly staff, delicious meals and great prices i wouldn’t be surprised if the pope hadn’t eaten here.

Experience

When you walk though the door of Johnny’s Diner you may seat your self to an available booth or table. You are quickly given menus and asked what you would like to drink. The have An assortment of Coke® beverages and of coarse the traditional hot coffee and juice both of which are worth noting. After you have been served you drinks your server will ask what you would like to eat they have a large breakfast and lunch menu with all your favorites such as Pancakes , waffles , biscuits , grits eggs ,bacon and many more.

Prices

Compared to eating at a Denny’s less then a mile up the road this food tastes much better and will not break your wallet. Its a great bang for the buck and i very well doubt will will disagree.
